The Geohydrologic Data Section (GEO) is seeking a dedicated and proactive Field Staff Supervisor to oversee a dynamic team supporting critical water resource programs. This role is essential to the success of the Regional Observation & Monitor-well Program (ROMP), the Quality of Water Improvement Program (QWIP), and the Well Repair & Maintenance Program (WRMP). Starting Compensation:Field Supervisor 1 $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 Field Supervisor 2 $63,000.00 - $74,000.00 Field Supervisor 3 $70,000.00 - $82,500.00 The starting salary range for the Field Supervisor position reflects the minimum to 50% of the compensation. The starting salary will be based on the education and experience of the successful candidate. The District conducts annual performance evaluations that may award applicable pay increases based on positive employee performance. Essential Functions
  • Supervise and support a team of well drillers and field technicians across multiple programs (ROMP, QWIP, and WRMP).
  • Perform administrative duties pertaining to QWIP and WRMP.
  • Plan, schedule, and assign daily field tasks and ensure timely completion of work.
  • Make informed field-related decisions to support operational goals.
  • Assist with performance evaluations, hiring, and personnel management.
  • Provide logistical support for field operations and program implementation through coordination with private well contractors and federal, state and local governments.
  • Coordinate the transport of equipment and materials to and from field sites.
  • Manage procurement of field supplies, services, and specialized equipment.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of heavy equipment and vehicles in collaboration with Fleet services.
  • Administer field safety procedures and techniques, as well as coordinate procurement of Risk and Safety equipment.
  • Perform administrative duties including documentation, reporting, and budget tracking.
  • Contribute to the execution of the Recommended Annual Service Budget (RASB).
  • Assist with other inter-departmental projects as required.
Working ConditionsIn-office: Approximately 40 percent of work is conducted in the office or remotely. Ability to operate standard office equipment such as a personal computer, copier, mobile devices, etc is required. Ability to perform continuous repetitive tasks (including keyboarding and driving) with one or both hands and feet is required. Occasional travel between District offices may be required. In-field: Approximately 60 percent of work is conducted in the field. Frequent travel during normal work hours is required. Must be able to operate a motorized vehicle for extended periods, sometimes in off-road (4x4) conditions. Work performed in the field may often be in remote and undeveloped areas of the District. Occasional overnight stays may be required. Outdoor labor may be required. Fieldwork frequently involves coordination of transporting, installing, operating, and retrieving of field equipment, water pumps, and related supplies and equipment. May be exposed to extremes in elements, temperature, and humidity and to a variety of pests, including mosquitoes and ticks. Must be able to able to bend, lift, carry and reach above shoulder level. May occasionally require the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Frequently requires the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Employee may be subject to call-in outside of regularly scheduled work hours, or required to be on call, including on nights, weekends or holidays, to respond to emergency management activities or other incidents requiring rapid response in support of District operations.   • Associates degree and 4 years of relevant fieldwork experience
  • Experience in a lead role and/or Five (5) years in the specific job profile (Equivalent combination of experience and education is accepted)
  • Valid Driver's License
Field Supervisor 2
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) and Six (6) years of relevant fieldwork and supervisory experience (Equivalent combination of experience and education is accepted)
  • Valid Driver's License
Field Supervisor 3
  • Master's degree (or higher) and Eight (8) years of relevant fieldwork and supervisory experience (Equivalent combination of experience and education is accepted)
  • Valid Driver's License
Preferred Credentials for Field Staff Supervisor
  • Experience in technical field work involving the collection of hydrogeological and/or hydrologic data.
  • Knowledge of well construction and/or abandonment procedures and standards (F.A.C. 40D-3 and 62-532).
  • State of Florida Water Well Contractor's license.
  • Possession of a valid Class A Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Additional Details The primary work location for this position is out of the Brooksville, FL office. The work schedule is four (4) ten-hour days, Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
