Field Services Engineer - Glatt Group : Job Details

Base pay range

$95,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr

About this role:

This position provides field-based engineering support for Glatt equipment and control systems across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. The role involves equipment commissioning, customer training, validation support, troubleshooting, and general service—requiring a strong background in automation, control systems, and mechanical/electrical integration. Candidates must be comfortable with frequent travel and working directly with clients on-site.

Responsibilities:

Include, but are not limited to:

• Conduct on-site services such as equipment FATs, commissioning, training, troubleshooting, and warranty support.
• Perform field installation and retrofits of control systems and equipment, including development of instructional documents.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues during site visits.
• Act as liaison between Glatt and the customer, reporting issues, delays, and scope changes.
• Collaborate with Project Managers throughout the entire lifecycle of assigned projects.
• Submit labor summaries, trip reports, and expense documentation.
• Document all service activities through checklists, markups, and protocols.
• Respond to field service requests with scheduling flexibility (short- and long-term).
• Provide rebuilds, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety evaluations.
• Offer technical support via phone and follow-up to ensure resolution.
• Give design feedback to the Process Automation department.
• Maintain high-quality service standards for internal and external clients.
• Foster positive relationships with clients and Glatt colleagues globally.
• Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Maintain clear communication with supervisors and keep workspace organized.
• Be physically able to climb ladders and work in confined spaces.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Up to 80% overnight travel.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Associate degree, trade school, or 5 years of related experience.
• Strong experience with:
• Variable Frequency Drives
• Allen Bradley PLCs (Siemens experience is a plus)
• Electrical wiring practices and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with:
• PLC and SCADA systems (iFix and/or Wonderware)
• Industry standards such as NFPA, NEC, NEMA

Preferred:

• Experience with Siemens PLCs and logic.
• Previous field service experience in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
