Job Description This world wide player in the sales and service of industrial measuring equipment is seeking a Field Service Technician who will be responsible for supporting customers in their plants. Support activities include commissioning (installation), training, troubleshooting, and repairing company equipment. You will travel and spend time onsite with customers, some international and within North America, this travel can be up to 75-80%. Typical travel is Monday to Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, depending on the size of the job, although some weekend work may be expected from time to time. A basic understanding of electrical theory and good troubleshooting and communication skills are required. They need someone with a good understanding of PM, Preventive Maintenance. At times you will be switching out boards and may troubleshoot and repair down to the component level at other times. You will receive OJT, On-The-Job training working with an experienced FST going to their jobs but at some point during your training, you will spend 8-9 weeks in Germany for more extensive training. When you return you will go back to working with the experienced tech until you are ready to go out on your own. To win this opportunity, you will need to show you have a firm grasp of low voltage electronics, the ability to think on the fly, and have great customer service and communication skills as you are the face of this company.
