Field Service Technician - Selectek : Job Details

Selectek is hiring for a Field Service Technician in the Ames, IA area.Compensation includes base salary, annual bonus potential, 100% paid company vehicle for work and personal use (includes insurance, gas card), cell phone and a laptop computer.Required:A 2-year electrical technology degree or equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree.Understanding of PLC's, VFD's, electrical troubleshooting.Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipmentGood communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management & clients.Must be able to handle multiple tasks, have excellent attention to detail, and be willing and able to learn new technologies quickly.Job Responsibilities:Control system commissioning and troubleshooting of PLC's, instrumentation, and motor control devices such as variable frequency drives and reduced voltage starters.Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatchesTie workflow to scheduleManage all on site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasksDiagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutionsProduce timely and detailed service reportsDocument processesOperate vehicle in a safely manner and use field automation systemsFollow all company's filed procedures and protocolsCooperate with technical team and share information across the organizationComprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefingsBuild positive relationships with customers* This is your Road Warrior position. Open to hopping on a plane, when needed. When not in the field, may be at the office helping in the panel shop.
