NELA USA is seeking a Field Service Technician for our River Falls, WI, location.

This position will be based at our production facility in River Falls, WI. Travel will be required up to 70-90% of the time. A candidate for this position must live within easy commuting distance of the MSP airport. NELA USA will provide a relocation allowance for a qualified applicant.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

NELA USA's hourly wage for this position is $28.00-$32.00 /Hr. NELA USA pays for all time worked, including travel and wait time. Total annual compensation for this position will exceed $75,000-$90,000 / Yr. The starting wage will be based on various factors, including experience, skill set, education, performance, license/certifications, business needs, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Included is a daily meal allowance and all travel-related business expenses.

POSITION SUMMARY:

With the assistance of our Director of After Sales Service and Engineering, this individual will be responsible for installing, programming, and implementing various automation systems and servicing our existing installed equipment base for our Automated Vision Systems and Graphic Arts Automation Equipment at customer sites throughout North America and South America.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide onsite commissioning of new equipment following established criteria.
  • Physically troubleshoot and repair production equipment to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved.
  • Train our customers' personnel in safe and effective equipment operation.
  • Collaborate with in-house Production Department and Field Service Department personnel to troubleshoot. Electrical/programming-related issues with systems being manufactured and in service.
  • Provide on-site customization of machine programs by revising programs to meet customer needs.
  • Work cohesively with our customers' personnel.
  • Work competently with PLCs, Job PCs, HMIs, variable frequency drives, control and communications networks, and other electrical hardware and software.
  • Configure NELA products utilizing a laptop and configuration software.
  • Identify and report opportunities for system improvements, upgrades, or enhancements to optimize automation performance.
  • Complete concise and accurate customer visit reports.
  • Complete concise and accurate business expense reports.
  • Maintain customer and project documentation.
  • Various other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, hydraulic & pneumatic theories of operation, and electrical theory.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Experience in business travel.
  • A willingness to travel for projects on short notice, including some weekends.
  • Work with Senior Engineering Team Members on installation, troubleshooting and upgrades of equipment and processes.
  • Ability to travel and work independently.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
  • A minimum of 5 years prior Industrial Mechanical or Field Service experience
  • Technical or electrical degree is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. overhead
  • Ability to walk, stand, crouch, and climb to perform duties
  • Regular attendance and timeliness.
  • Attend training sessions required as assigned.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
  • Legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing on-site visits and maintenance tasks.
