Overview
Rapiscan Systems designs, manufactures, and markets security and inspection systems worldwide. Our products are used to inspect baggage, cargo, people, vehicles, and other objects for weapons, explosives, drugs, and other contraband. Our security devices are found in airports, border crossings, railway stations, seaports, government and military installations, and nuclear facilities.
We are seeking a Field Service Technician based in the Chicago, IL area to join our fast-paced, quality-focused team. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure customer satisfaction with Rapiscan's equipment through installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance, demonstrating strong electronic repair skills.
Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain equipment in the field.Meet contractual metrics, report information, and manage customer relationships.Respond promptly to emergency and scheduled service calls.Ensure timely completion of maintenance and document all work performed.Order, install, and return parts according to regulations.Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to safety procedures.Report safety incidents and participate in investigations and corrective actions.Uphold company values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.Report quality issues to management for corrective action.Perform other duties as needed to meet business needs.Qualifications
Associate of Science degree in electronics or related field, or equivalent military training.4+ years of experience in field service, preferably in the x-ray industry, or a BS in electronics, engineering, or related discipline.Knowledge of electronic/mechanical assemblies, wiring diagrams, and schematics.Experience with test equipment (DVM, oscilloscope) and high-voltage/x-ray equipment preferred.Strong communication skills, detail-oriented, well-organized, and self-motivated.Proficient in MS Office and quick to learn new software.Ability to work under pressure, flexible schedule, and travel up to 75%.Ability to pass background checks, US citizenship, valid driver's license, reliable transportation.Physical Requirements
