  • JOB SUMMARY
  • Responsible for providing professional service and support for Huber Technology customers by performing field service installations, startup, repair, and maintenance of HUBER wastewater equipment. The Field Service Specialist, Industrial-Mechanical Repair Emphasis, will work within the guidelines established by the Director of Service and/or President and will follow established procedures when representing Huber Technology.

  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The following are essential duties and responsibilities of a Field Service Specialist: (Other duties may be assigned)

    • Install, calibrate, configure, test, maintain, evaluate, troubleshoot, pre-commission, commission, and repair wastewater equipment, including pumps, motors, valves, polymer stations, etc., manufactured by Huber Technology.
    • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on equipment and related systems.
    • Assist with the installation of equipment at customer sites and provide pre-installation support.
    • Review blueprints, plans, specifications, and customer documentation to prepare for startup or service.
    • Train customer personnel on equipment operation according to Huber standards.
    • Build and maintain professional customer relationships through effective communication and service, both onsite and via phone.
    • Collaborate with engineering, project management, spare parts, and management teams to resolve issues.
    • Provide detailed reports and documentation of activities and expenses to the Director of Service in a timely manner.
    • Make technical recommendations to maintenance technicians and treatment plant operators.
    • Work closely with various teams to ensure site work is completed on time and safely.
    • Adhere to all safety policies and report safety concerns.
    • Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good condition and ensure calibration and safety standards are met.
    • Assist with manufacturing, engineering, refurbishment, or replacement projects as needed.
    • Properly document and label defective parts for repairs.
    • Educate customers on basic operation of their equipment.
    • Assist in parts department with spare parts recommendations.
    • Perform welding activities as required.
    • Ensure all travel, medical, and related documentation is current and valid.
    • Provide troubleshooting and technical support via phone and in the field.
    • Support other Field Service Specialists and participate in team efforts.
    • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform policies.
    • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

    III. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Associate's Degree in a technical field or equivalent mechanical-industrial repair/service work experience, minimum 1-2 years, with wastewater experience as a plus.

    IV. ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Strong customer service skills and response capability.
    • Motivated, fast-paced, with a strong work ethic.
    • Ability to work independently and responsibly.
    • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English; other languages a plus.
    • Computer proficiency for report writing.
    • Valid Driver's License and ability to pass DOT physical; CDL not required.
    • Ability to operate a forklift with training if necessary.
    • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 100%) within the US and Canada.
    • Maintain company-provided equipment and tools.
    • Reside near a major airport.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Moderate to heavy physical activity, including lifting 25-50+ pounds.
    • Work involves standing, reaching, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, and moving about.
    • Ability to work in various environments, including outdoor, warehouse, and plant settings.
    • Good hearing and vision are essential for safety.
    • Must maintain current vaccinations for safety in wastewater environments.

    Pre-Hire Requirements: Ability to pass drug tests, background checks, and I-9 verification. HUBER is an E-Verify employer.
