Your Tasks:

As a Field Service Engineer (FSE), you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to customers in the field. Your primary duties will include installing, maintaining, and repairing basic and intermediate Miltenyi equipment, as well as troubleshooting technical issues to ensure optimal performance. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, a team mentality, and a customer-focused approach. You will receive comprehensive training and work under the supervision of experienced engineers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in the installation and setup of Miltenyi equipment and systems at customer sites, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.

Conduct routine maintenance and perform repairs on equipment to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime.

Identify and diagnose technical issues, providing effective solutions and escalating complex problems to more senior engineers when necessary.

Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries, addressing concerns, and offering technical guidance to customers.

Maintain accurate records of service activities, including service reports, installation documents, equipment logfiles, photos, etc.

Work closely with other team members, including engineers and sales representatives, to address customer needs effectively.

Adhere to company standards and procedures to ensure high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction. Travel domestically, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems.

Requirements:

HS Diploma required; 2 years formalized technical training or education (e.g., associate's degree, Military Occupational Specialty, etc.), a minimum of 2 years' experience working in a customer-facing technical support role in a scientific or similarly regulated environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge:

• Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and computer systems.

Skills:

• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong time management and prioritization skills.

Abilities:

• Ability to operate a computer with Windows operating system, Outlook email, internet, and basic MS Office products.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to travel, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems, including domestic overnight travel on weekdays.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Eligibility to legally work in the United States and travel internationally for work.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear. The employee is required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds alone or up to 80 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work at a rapid pace while maintaining attention to detail.

Work Environment:

This job is performed in various facilities. The employee will have an office environment for about half of the time, which is temperature-controlled. The role requires mobility to visit customer sites and exposure to natural elements. Handling research/clinical equipment may be necessary, with strict SOPs and PPE to be followed.
