Purpose
As a Field Service Engineer, you will serve as a critical resource supporting the Field Service team, helping to increase the competitive advantage of our Surgical Business and drive customer satisfaction in the market.
Key Responsibilities
Complete preventative maintenance routines as scheduled and per contract conditions, as well as emergency calls. Test repaired instruments in all operating modes and demonstrate that repaired instruments operate at BVI's specifications, minimizing instrument failure call backs.Install retrofits and instruct customers on the resulting benefits and changes.Ensure customer satisfaction within your assigned territory. Maintain a high level of communication with customers, sales force, Clinical Applications, and operations teams within the operating region to rapidly address customer needs.Communicate equipment problems, quality issues, and customer concerns to the appropriate in-house personnel within established guidelines. Consult with local and international management on chronic or unusual problems.Control expenses within budgeted guidelines.Support spare parts management, including the timely return of strategic spare part cores. Maintain minimal spare parts inventory while achieving high customer service levels and inventory turn goals for your area.Ensure all resources (parts, tools, etc.) are available for successful customer call completion.Strategically promote, educate, and market BVI's services to customers.Ensure proper reporting and CRM system management, providing timely and accurate documentation on services performed.Provide feedback to the sales force and management team about any commercial opportunities, including customer, competitor, and market information gained through customer contact.Achieve technical training certifications as required.Properly manage company assets such as the company vehicle, test equipment, and computer.Where applicable, sell contract services.Maintain and support GMP/QMS and comply with any local regulatory requirements.Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a service environment, ideally within medical devices.Confidence operating in a diverse and multicultural environment.Exceptional technical proficiency to troubleshoot and resolve issues with urgency.Strong interpersonal skills to de-escalate challenging situations with customers, lead teams to technical solutions, and motivate field engineers.Willingness and ability to travel based on business needs.Preferred: at least 3 years of technical experience with Phaco-emulsificators and dual function Vitreo-retinal and Phaco-emulsificator equipment with Endo-laser, Cryosurgery equipment, and Laser endoscopy systems.Company
