Description Position DetailsTitle: Field Service Engineer II Location: New York - must reside within one hour of a major airport Shift: Monday - Friday, Day Shift Compensation: $38 - $42+/hr (based on experience), based on a 40-hour workweek, with overtime as needed Travel: Up to 75% domestic travel, primarily within the Southwest region and throughout the U.S. as needed Benefits: Attractive bonus plan, company car, phone, laptop, and strong opportunities for growth-including international advancement.Position DescriptionThe Field Service Engineer II is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing automated instruments used in histology, cytology, and hematology. This position requires frequent travel to perform field service and some installation work. You will also conduct evaluations, testing, inspections, and training on company products.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Repair Activities:Repair medical instruments to manufacturer specificationsDecontaminate and clean biohazards from instruments before repairPerform electrical safety testsProvide technical support to Field Service Technicians, BMETs, and internal support teams (Help Desk-style guidance in-person, via phone, email, etc.)Conduct field service repairs to minimize customer downtimePerform quality inspections and evaluate procedures for future revisionsTraining Activities:Train Field Service Technicians, Independent Repair Vendors (IRVs), BMETs, and other personnel on instrument installation, decontamination, repair, and testingParticipate in developing and updating service manualsConduct training sessions on- and off-site as assignedInformation Management & Reporting:Document service reports in compliance with FDA requirementsDraft service bulletins for distribution to IRVs and other partnersCoordinate product feedback with Manufacturing and Product Development teamsAnalyze service failures and prepare comprehensive reportsParticipate in meetings, task forces, and other collaborative groupsQuality / Business Systems:Ensure compliance with ISO 13485 certification standardsRecommend improvements to instrument quality and performanceAdditional Responsibilities:Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environmentRecommend process improvementsAttend technical meetings and seminars as requestedSupport special projects and other assigned tasksMaintain professional internal and external communication
