JOB SUMMARYA roofing superintendent is responsible for leading roofing foremen to perform work safely and productively per specifications and to the standards of the company and customer. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. · Supervise foremen to lead safe and efficient roof system installationso Oversee field staff, assisting foremen with crew leadershipo Visit job sites dailyo Conduct or participate in daily safety auditso Train field staff in safety, work skills and efficiencyo Provide ongoing feedback to foremen regarding job performanceo Resolve complains and grievances; assist with discipline when necessaryo Discuss opportunities for professional developmento Conduct annual performance reviewso Recommend raises and promotions· Ensure production and quality goalso Maintain understanding of contract information for jobso Track labor hours and production against stated goalso Schedule materials, equipment and deliveries, paying special attention to using inventoried materialso Monitor material usage, minimize waste, anticipate shortages and order materials as neededo Coordinate, supervise and manage subcontractorso Monitor quality of installations· Deliver excellent customer serviceo Engage with customers to answer questions and provide explanationso Schedule daily or weekly contact with customers to review progresso Discuss any outstanding issues with customers and other partieso Meet with customers to verify satisfaction with work and billing; deliver warranties· Manage and coordinate job details between the field and officeo Review plans and sites, delegate crews and do all pre-job planning including but not limited to creating site-specific safety plans and work plan efficiencieso Ensure crews have information and instructions necessary to complete jobso Submit reports and paperwork and otherwise coordinate communication between office and job siteso Investigate incidents, near misses, accidents and thefts, and provide relevant documents, photos and assessments to the officeo Deliver all documentation to the office in a timely mannero Review final paperwork to ensure change orders are reflected and billedo Participate in manufacturer final inspection· Exhibit exemplary leadership with all company personnelo Participate in regular review meetings with project managerso Demonstrate commitment to professional developmento Demonstrate willingness to be a team playero Offer assistance and expertise to others KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES• Language skills – ability to read, analyze, and interpret written information, and write legibly and informatively • Effective communication – the ability to convey information, concepts, and concerns to people with differing communication styles• Math – the ability to perform math calculations relevant to roofing work• Technology – the ability to use computers, phones and other technology tools• Roof system installation – the ability to teach others roof system installation skills• Safety and security – the ability to identify and correct unsafe conditions according to company and OSHA standards• Quality – the knowledge to inspect and ensure attention to detail and quality • Productivity – the ability to meet production goals• Cost consciousness – understand budgeting and implications to jobs• Data research – collect data to the company's benefit, use intuition and experience to complement data• Management – the ability to track and influence measureable outcomes• Plans and specifications – the ability to read and understand architectural plans and specifications• Problem solving – is able to understand complex problems and make decisions to benefit everyone as much as possible• Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS· Safety training: OSHA 30-hour card· Valid driver's license· Ability to use/learn business technology· 2 years of roofing experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS· Bilingual fluency· Specialized training: crane CCL, forklift, manufacturer-authorized trainers, man lift, rigging, roof system specific training, cool roofs, CERTASPECIAL QUALIFICATIONSMust pass a criminal background check and drug screening.Must be a high-performing, innovative, values-driven, informed, and passionate individual. WORK CONDITIONSThis position requires regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, and direct sunlight.Work is performed primarily at construction sites, often at heights on rooftops, ladders, or scaffolding.May involve working in noisy, dusty, or dirty environments.Requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and fall protection harnesses.Frequently requires walking, standing, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting materials up to 50 pounds.Travel between job sites is required.May involve early morning start times, long hours, and occasional weekend or evening work, depending on project needs and weather conditions.Must be able to work safely and effectively in fast-paced, physically demanding environments.The above describes the general content and requirements for this position.
