This is an on-site position; SF Bay Area local candidates only. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Position Summary:

As the Field Engineer, you are responsible for document control management of RFIs, Submittals, and meeting minutes. You will support the project team with posting documents to the plans, assisting Superintendents with tracking fabrication and delivery and site team coordination for preconstruction/preconference mockups.

Responsibilities:

Construction Activities

  • Support Assistant Superintendent & Superintendent with tracking field activities and subcontractors
  • Participate in inspection walk as required to complete the various project activities
  • Communicate with team on site activities that could impact neighborhood relations
  • Communicate schedule updates to project team
  • Basic understanding and interpreting of project drawings, specifications and scopes of work

Quality Control and Safety

  • Observe quality control procedures to ensure all work meets CORE Builders' standards and client expectations.
  • Responsible for following safety protocols including OSHA standards
  • Understand safe construction practices
  • Participate weekly safety walks, document observations and correct issues via Procore.
  • Support Assistant Superintendent & Superintendent by monitoring SWPPP conditions within site throughout duration of project.

Document Control

Submittals:

  • Creating and maintaining a submittal log.
  • Tracking submittals and coordinating all submittals in a timely manner to meet or beat the project schedule timelines.
  • Initiate procurement coordination with the Superintendent once submittals are approved.

Request For Information (RFIs):

  • Create, maintain and close RFIs via Procore.
  • RFIs are to be created with assistance from the Assistant Project Manager and Superintendent, and the final review of the Project Manager.
  • Communicate all critical path RFIs to the team both written and verbally.

Meeting Agendas and Minutes:

  • Creating and maintaining meeting agendas and minutes, including OAC Meetings, Mock-Ups, Preconstruction meetings, Box Walks, and any other miscellaneous project meetings as needed by the Project Manager.

Communication & Documentation

  • Provide field updates to Assistant Superintendent & Superintendent on construction progress status, potential critical path issues and project needs.
  • Take daily photos and upload into Procore
  • Utilize emails and distribute follow up correspondence for records
  • Participate in construction meetings:
  • Foreman, Preconstruction, Mock Up, etc.
  • Comfortable in navigating technology tools including Microsoft office suite (excel, project, outlook), PROCORE and Bluebeam

Site Staff Support

  • Creating PDF exhibits to assist with project coordination.
  • Procore document management, uploading and downloading documents.
  • Redlining permitted plans with RFIs, ASIs, and OSIs

Professional Development

  • Learn best practices in project management, seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in company-wide initiatives and Core University.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation in project management.

Qualifications:

  • College Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
  • Zero (0) to five (5) years of commercial or multi-family residential construction experience within the San Francisco Bay Area
  • Internships in the commercial or multi-family residential construction industry a plus
  • Flexible with ability to manage multiple tasks/projects concurrently
  • Resourceful, with respect to problem identification and resolution
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (or similar project management software, Scheduling software (MS Project), Procore is a plus

Working Conditions:

  • The role involves both office work and on-site presence.
  • Travel to project sites as needed.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, as project demands.

Anticipated Starting Salary Range:

$90,000 - $115,000 per year
