Location: Binghamton NYType of Employment: ContractID# 6392Role & Responsibilities:Role OverviewThe Field Construction Coordinator Assistant (FCCA) supports the FCC in overseeing electric utility construction activities performed by line contractors. This includes coordination, quality control, paperwork management, and ensuring compliance with Customer standards.Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in monitoring contractor crews and conducting field inspections for electric transmission and distribution projects.
  • Support QA/QC and program oversight functions, including paperwork tracking and scheduling.
  • Review construction plans, work orders, and engineering drawings.
  • Coordinate with contractor supervisors to ensure resource availability and proper project execution.
  • Represent the company in contractor interactions, addressing on-site issues and supporting resolution of field challenges.
  • Support compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain documentation for invoice approval and project reporting.
  • Available for emergency storm restoration support and extensive travel within the New York franchise area.
Qualifications / Requirements:Education & Experience
  • 5+ years' experience in electric utility construction and maintenance (T&D systems, substations, underground networks).
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Access, Word, MS Project); SAP experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with utility assets, inspection programs, and QA/QC processes.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Physically capable of walking distribution lines and ROWs.
  • Team-oriented, organized, and detail-driven.
