This position supports the New England territory, with a preference for candidates based in the Greater Boston area.

This position is to provide solution-oriented consultative training, technical support and troubleshooting at customer sites, and remotely, on bioMérieux's diagnostic product lines. Effectively work with customers to achieve efficient implementation and go live of new instrumentation. Retain current customer business, while developing and strengthening customer relationships that result in customer loyalty and positive referrals. Collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure customers receive prompt, accurate and professional support to further their business needs. The Field Application Specialist I promotes teamwork and cooperation, removes barriers to productivity, and creates an enthusiastic, positive work environment.

Primary Duties

  • Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of bioMérieux's Quality System.
  • Coordinate and provide technical training, consultation, and ongoing support of bioMérieux's diagnostic product lines within the U.S. customer base.
  • Develop, cultivate, and maintain strong professional relationships with all customers.
  • Answer internal and external customer inquiries and ensure regulatory compliance through timely and accurate documentation in bioMérieux's CRM system; consulting as appropriate with Sales Partners, Application Specialists, Field/System Engineers, IT Resources, Management teams, and Local/Global Support Teams
  • Provide consistent follow up to ensure customer satisfaction and meet minimum key performance indicators.
  • Responsible for efficient territory management within operating expense budget.
  • Support bioMérieux revenue initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, and/or as business needs dictate.
  • Training & Education

    • Bachelor's degree in medical technology, technical or life science field.

    Experience

    • 1-3 years clinical laboratory experience or equivalent. bioMérieux product experience preferred.
    • Experience with guidelines with CLIA regulations and/or additional laboratory credentialing agencies preferred.
    • Experience with related technical field applications support strongly preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrate leadership skills, able to work independently, effectively multitask to meet deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Windows OS, MS Office programs.
  • Exhibit sound decision-making ability, including problem resolution and troubleshooting.
  • Laboratory Information System, or Connectivity/Networking experience a plus.
  • Must be highly skilled at communication both written and verbal and should be able to interact with a variety of scientific levels from novice to expert.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

    • Ability to remain in stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods.
    • Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and the like.
    • Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day.
    • Ability to operate heavy machinery.
    • Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
