Please Note: The territory for this position may include, but not be limited to: Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia.

Interested candidates must reside within the listed territory and will be required to travel up to 80% within the specified area, including overnight trips.

Manage daily activities that support appropriate patient access to our client's products in various provider sites of service and work as a liaison to other patient assistance and patient services offered by our clients.

Our Field Access Specialists manage daily activities that support patient access and work as liaisons in healthcare provider settings. They travel weekly, Monday - Thursday, within a designated territory, using their knowledge of coverage, patient assistance, and health policy to educate office staff and address access issues to help patients.

As a Field Access Specialist (FAS), a typical day might include:

  • Reviewing patient insurance benefit options and validating prior authorization requirements.
  • Identifying alternative funding and financial assistance programs.
  • Coordinating with our client's patient support services representatives.
  • Skills and Abilities:

    • Minimum of three years of experience in a medical practice, reimbursement arena, or pharmaceutical industry in sales, managed care, or clinical support.
    • Experience supporting healthcare providers such as physician practices or patient assistance programs is preferred.
    • Reside within reasonable commuting distance of a major airport in the listed location and be able to travel within the territory.
    • Knowledge of payer systems, Medicare, Medicaid, and pharmacy processes.
    • Understanding of operational processes in physician offices, especially related to prior authorizations, and ability to communicate reimbursement topics clearly.

    Education:

    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Bachelor's degree preferred.
    • Public speaking and presentation skills are a plus.
