Fiber Splicer - TEKsystems : Job Details

TEKsystems is looking to build their team of Fiber Splicers on a new cabling team.The technician can use Ribbon or Fusion splicing techniques. However, if Ribbon, they would need to bring their own splicer.- The Fiber Technician will install a work area outlet for the floor, modular furniture, and wall (terminate CAT 3 & CAT 5 jacks. Mount faceplates and surface mount boxes correctly.- The Fiber Technician will build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross-connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic, and hardware). Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required. Complete all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels).- The Fiber Technician performs testing, continuity test horizontal and riser cable, use of volt-ohmmeter, troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts, and transpose pairs on horizontal and riser cable.*Skills*Fiber optic, Splicing, Splice, Fiber optic testing, Ribbon Splicing, Fusion, Fiber optic splicing, Fiber splicing*Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
