Assistant Store Manager

Pure Fishing is on the lookout for a driven, hands-on Assistant Store Manager to help guide our flagship Fisherman's Factory Outlet in Spirit Lake. What Will You Do?

Partner with the Store Manager to execute the strategic vision of our outlet store. You'll energize and empower the team, foster a customer-first mindset, and help drive operational excellence. This role is a unique chance to lead in a fast-paced, outdoor-lifestyle retail environment that celebrates innovation and customer connection.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the execution of the store's business plan, promotions, and customer engagement strategies to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve concerns with professionalism and care—setting the tone for the entire team.
  • Train, coach, and mentor staff to maximize their strengths and build a high-energy, performance-focused environment.
  • Jump in where needed—this is a hands-on leadership role that values collaboration and teamwork.
  • Help assess team performance and contribute to setting daily, weekly, and monthly goals; identify training needs and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Assist in staffing and recruitment decisions to ensure optimal coverage and consistent customer service.
  • Champion process improvements across operations, keeping the team aligned with company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee both retail and ecommerce operations; maintain accurate inventory and efficient warehouse flow.
  • Help manage operational costs, budgets, and resources to meet financial objectives.
  • Provide business data and insights as needed through reporting and special projects.
  • Support the development and clear interpretation of company policies across the team.
  • Guide the team through challenges—offering solutions, setting expectations, and ensuring accountability.
  • Tackle difficult or unique customer situations personally or escalate appropriately.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with store standards and operational excellence.
  • Prioritize safety for staff and customers, maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
  • Step in for the Store Manager as needed, ensuring seamless leadership coverage and continuity of operations.

What Makes You a Great Catch?

  • 2+ years' experience in retail operations
  • Previous leadership experience preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel and Word; IMS and SAP experience a plus
  • Solid basic math skills
  • A love for fishing? That's a bonus, not a requirement!
