FEMA - Environmental Planning Specialist

The FEMA Environmental Planning Specialist:

  • Conducts site inspections and ensures compliance with environmental, floodplain, historic preservation laws, regulations, and executive orders.
  • Assess potential impacts to species and habitat on projects, prepares No Effect memos, conducts biological assessments and surveys.
  • Conducts surveys, assessments, and reviews of other potential areas of impact such as water quality, wetland delineations.
  • Performs analyses to ensure all reasonable alternatives have been evaluated.
  • Provides technical expertise to assist with Floodplain and Wetland Issues.
  • May coordinate and complete site inspections to validate and record damage.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a FEMA Badge.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in environmental science, planning, engineering or related discipline.
  • 2 years of in-field experience.
  • Domestic travel is required.

Amount of Travel Required: 100%

Assignment Category: Fulltime-Temporary

Pay Range Minimum: $33.60

Pay Range Maximum: $67.20

Additional Compensation: All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.

Work Location Options: Successful candidate will be required to work in office and field locations as needed.

Driver's License Requirements: An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.
