Paraprofessional/School Aide

The Paraprofessional/School Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department, teacher and/or supervising designee. The School Aide may also provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Follow these steps:

Recruiter will let you know when to schedule fingerprints with Federal Way they need to call 253-###-#### to ask for fingerprints AND badge. Federal Way fingerprints cost $65.

Your Recruiter will schedule you for In House Training only for Unlicensed BT & CBT (every Monday, 9am-2pm).

If Unlicensed BT must complete 15.5 hour training before attending IHT.

If Certified BT must complete 40 hour training before attending IHT no master teacher required.

You CAN ONLY START IF YOU HAVE A BADGE.
