This role plays a vital part in helping clients navigate child support services, enforce court orders, and ensure financial stability for families in need. This is a full-time position offering $29.56 per hour, with the opportunity to work in a meaningful, fast-paced environment that values professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail. What You'll Do:
- Interview clients to gather documentation and determine eligibility for child support services
- Explain relevant laws, policies, and procedures to clients, employers, and the public
- Locate non-custodial parents, assess income/assets, and calculate support obligations
- Facilitate support agreements, paternity acknowledgments, and address payment barriers
- Enforce court orders through wage garnishments, liens, license suspensions, and benefit intercepts
- Draft legal documents for paternity, support establishment, modifications, and court filings
- Represent the department in court hearings or assist attorneys as needed
- Coordinate and collect genetic test specimens; handle sensitive paternity-related discussions
- Maintain accurate and confidential case files; track payments and reconcile balances
- Communicate with clients, legal representatives, and agencies to exchange information
- Schedule and coordinate court hearings and related appointments
What You'll Bring: Experience & Training: At least
1 year of full-time experience interviewing clients for government or social service programs, or equivalent training/experience
Licensing: A valid driver's license may be required and must be maintained
Knowledge & Skills: - Strong understanding of office practices, legal terminology, and social service procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and specialized case management systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interpret and apply laws, policies, and court orders
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Conflict resolution and public interaction skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
