Addus Home Care strives to help older adults and people with disabilities to live safe and healthy lives at home.In this job, you will assists families in crisis through DCFS programs including: Family Habilitation Services, Visitation and Housing. Family Service Specialists provide services that help families comply with court-ordered program participation and work through difficult situations. Training is provided through the office and on-the-job.Family Service Specialist Benefits:Pay is $17/HRDAILY PAY available for select positions!Flexible schedule - full time and part time availableDirect depositReimbursement for mileage $.70/mileEligible employees and their dependents will be offered medical, hospitalization, vision, and dental benefits through the employer sponsored minimum essential plan. Employees are also eligible to enroll in employer sponsored retirement plan after 6 months of service (21 years of age). Accrued paid time off (up to 40 hours per year, based on hours worked). All DCFS employees, who average a minimum of 25 hours over a three-month period, are eligible for holiday pay benefits.Holiday Schedule:New Year's DayLabor DayMemorial DayThanksgiving DayIndependence DayChristmas DayFSS Duties:Support families to prevent the permanent placement of children out of their home.Provide transportation for parent and/or children to and from locations for supervised visitation. Travel can be extensive.Work directly with families in the home, teaching and demonstrating homemaking skills, parenting skills, anger management, utilizing effective resourcesSupervised visitation / Unsupervised visitation. Observe all interaction between parents and children during visits parent and redirect if neededPrepare written reports and maintain accurate recordsSubmit written client progress reports on a monthly basis:Scheduled dates and units of serviceSpecific goals/issues to be addressed for each date of serviceDocumentation as to whether each appointment was successful or missedReports of progress for each identified goalRecommendations for future serviceReport all child abuse and neglectAttend all mandated trainingsFor families or emancipated foster children in the housing program the FSS locates housing, jobs and other community supports for living independently.FSS Requirements & Competencies:High school diploma or GED is requiredAssociates degree or 2 years of child welfare experience is requiredMust be at least 21 years of ageExperience in social work, child care, or working with families is preferredMust have a dependable automobile, a valid driver's license, and proof of auto insuranceMust pass required background checksEmployee wellbeing is top priority at Addus Homecare, and we're thrilled to announce our recognition as the top healthcare company on Indeed's 2024 Top 100 Work Wellbeing Index.
