Facility:

This Level 3 trauma facility provides comprehensive surgical services to the local community. The facility features a dedicated preoperative clinic where advanced practice providers work closely with the medical team to ensure patients receive optimal care before surgical procedures. The collaborative environment supports professional growth and quality patient outcomes.

Opportunity: Certified - General Surgery APP

This locum tenens position is for a midlevel provider to join the preoperative clinic, conducting risk assessments and surgical consultations. The role requires surgical experience and a focus on comprehensive patient evaluation.

Job Details:

• Perform consults on surgical patients including risk assessment and information gathering
• Communicate with patients and write complete consult notes for day of surgery
• Report abnormal labs and tests to the medical director
• Answer questions for RNs in the clinic
• Discuss patient concerns with the medical director
• Alert medical director to any logistical issues
• Full-time position (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday) for approximately 14 weeks
• Requires surgical experience
• Must have performed at least 50 clinical services/cases or assessments in an acute care hospital within the last 24 months
• Active California license and DEA required
• Approximately 9 patient encounters per shift
• BLS certification required

Compensation:

Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included. Guaranteed 8 hours per day with overtime available after 8 hours. Travel reimbursements include airport parking, approved rental car insurance, and local transportation between airport, lodging, and facility.

Estimated Hourly Rate: $100 - $140
