Position Title: Corrections Physician (Board-Certified Family Practice)

Location: 50 minutes south of Houston, TX (Message for specific location)

Facility Type: State Correctional Facility

Start Date: Urgent need – August 18th, 2025

Assignment Type: Locum Tenens

Initial Term: 3-month LOA with high likelihood of extension

Key Details:

• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Call: Rotating night and weekend call with 1 other MD on site

Patient Flow:

• Mix of scheduled and unscheduled (walk-in) patient encounters
• RN team handles most procedures (e.g., sutures); minimal procedural requirements for MD

Credentialing Timeline: Estimated at 2 weeks

Requirements:

• Active Texas license
• Board Certification in Family Medicine (FP)
• Drug screen and background check required
• Preference for FP at this time (IM may be considered pending further updates)

Compensation:

• Rate: $225/hour all inclusive (local candidates or within driving distance preferred)
