Job Title: Family Advocate WorkerLocation: Family Focus - EnglewoodSupervisor: Center Program ManagerFamily Focus is your partner in building strong families across the Chicago Metropolitan area! We're here to support families and their children including emergency assistance, child welfare services, family support services, educational programs, and more. Our goal? To help our communities thrive and reach their full potential! With 11 centers already up and running, we're eager to expand our reach and make an even bigger impact. We want you to be a part of our journey!The Family Advocate Worker provides holistic services for vulnerable children and their families. This is a community-based program and operates by working with and supporting families in the community who are having difficulty parenting and may be at risk of having their children removed; foster families with a goal of reunification; and community members in need of other forms of assistance.Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Assist in planning and implementation of all program components related to Family Advocacy Center Support.
• Establish a trusting relationship and develop Individual Family Support Plans with all families.
• Provide home and/or site visits to participants.
• Intake and assessment of families
• Assist in developing collaborative relationships with community-based agencies and develop formal agreements with other community-based agencies to offer beneficial services to FAC families.
• Conduct and co-facilitate group services, parent education classes
• Advocate and refer families to internal and external community-based organizations for services.
• Conduct a variety of outreach activities to engage and recruit families into program services.

The ideal candidate will have the following education and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in the human service field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a strengths-based capacity with family, children, or youth.
• Knowledge and skill in working with families in crisis or sensitive situations.
• Knowledge of DCFS policies and procedures as well as experience working with DCFS-involved families.
• Ability to use SPSS, Survey Monkey, and other data analysis tools.
• Sensitive to diverse cultures and populations.
• Must have access to transportation.
