Facility Director (Project Management)

The Jeff Rouse Swim & Sports Center is accepting applications for a Facilities Director. This role oversees the company's buildings, grounds, equipment, and related operations. The Facilities Director ensures the overall appearance, safety, cleanliness, and functionality of the center, including maintenance, custodial support, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities also include negotiating contracts with service providers, inspectors, and regulatory agencies, as well as conducting inspections and maintenance to ensure safety standards are met.

Supervisory Relationship

Reports to the General Manager and works under their guidance, following established policies, procedures, and regulations. Provides direct supervision to maintenance, custodial, and operations staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage maintenance, safety, and operational tasks to promote a safe and clean environment for employees, guests, and members.
  • Direct cleaning, upkeep, and maintenance using knowledge of commercial cleaning methods and equipment.
  • Develop and implement systems related to facility maintenance in collaboration with the General Manager.
  • Maintain knowledge of building systems such as sprinkler, HVAC, alarm, fire, lighting, and utilities.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes through regular inspections.
  • Enforce safety regulations and OSHA compliance.
  • Hire, train, and supervise staff; manage contractors as needed.
  • Conduct staff performance reviews and motivate employees to maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain inventory and supplies; develop preventive maintenance plans.
  • Perform daily maintenance and manage service logs.
  • Lead maintenance and repair projects, prioritizing urgent repairs.
  • Review and update repair logs regularly.
  • Set goals for the Aquatic Center operations and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Coordinate cleaning and maintenance schedules around daily activities and special events.
  • Manage department budget, monitor expenses, and control utilities and wages.
  • Participate in weekly management meetings.
  • Adhere to JRSSC policies and serve as an Essential Personnel during emergencies.
Additional Work

Perform physical activities related to programs and events, including lifting and moving equipment. Work irregular shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Performance Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent; minimum three years managing facility operations; trades experience preferred.
  • Experience in pool maintenance and holding a Pool Operator's license is advantageous.
  • Language: Ability to interpret safety and operational documents, communicate effectively, and write reports.
  • Math: Capable of calculations involving percentages, measurements, and basic algebra.
  • Reasoning: Apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems.
  • Computer: Proficient with Google Suite and property-specific software.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally over 100 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, and peripheral vision. The work environment involves exposure to hazards, extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, loud noises, and outdoor weather conditions. Safety precautions are essential.
