Job Description :

The Facilities Technician is responsible for the completion of the repairs and maintenance of all SFR facilities, as assigned. This position will work with outside contractors or vendors for various services as directed by the Facilities Supervisor. A Level 2 Background Check and Drug Screen are required. EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING REQUIRED: Trade school or equivalent work experience in custodial, building maintenance, basic construction, and lawn maintenance required. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES REQUIRED: Valid Driver's License; Vehicle Insurance to state of Florida limits. EXPERIENCE/SPECIFIC SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Basic computer experience
  • Must be organized and provide deliverables in support of project plans.
  • Knowledge of trades related to building maintenance and repair.
  • Must have knowledge and experience with cleaning, basic maintenance methods, materials and equipment. This includes use of tools, yard equipment, painting, plumbing, irrigation systems, electrical, and daily repairs. Able to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively and professionally with team members and outside vendors.
  • Must be able to learn additional skills through on the job training/observation, as needed.
  • Must be able to work with various tools and cleaning materials, maintaining safety.
  • Knowledge of MSDS a plus.
  • Maintain safety at all times.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Move, lift, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) Work in different weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
  • Bend or stoop repeatedly over time.
  • Travel over rough, uneven or rocky surfaces.
  • Good visual and audio acuity.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Acts as a contact for personnel for any building issues (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, electrical, emergencies and repairs, etc.)
  • Monitors contractor performance and works closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications, reporting any issues to Supervisor.
  • May act as the project coordinator for all size projects including large scale repair and new facility construction projects, as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Assists with maintaining building security and immediately responds to building emergencies on a 24-hour basis, when on-call. Participates in on-call rotation.
  • Assists the Facilities Supervisor in preparing the annual maintenance budget
  • Solicits bids and quotes from vendors, as directed.
  • Daily work includes custodial work, electrical work/repairs, plumbing repairs, irrigation work, painting, moving furniture/offices, basic construction, basic building upkeep and maintenance, etc. Escalating maintenance out of scope to supervisor.
  • Groundskeeping to include tree trimming, cutting grass, blowing, edging, landscaping to keep grounds maintained and beautiful.
  • Coordinates and assists with departmental and employee moves
  • Transports goods or equipment as assigned
  • Daily cleaning of office buildings. Back up to Care Center, cleaning patient rooms and facility.
  • Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Supervisor.
  • Responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, as directed.
  • Assists with emergency management planning, as directed.
