Hourly Rate: $25 Reports To: Facilities Coordinator Department: Operations About the Role: Favarh is seeking a dependable and skilled Facilities Specialist to support the maintenance and repair of our buildings and properties. This hands-on role works closely with the Facilities Coordinator and program staff to ensure safe, clean, and well-maintained environments across all Favarh locations. You'll handle general repairs, basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and grounds maintenance, while occasionally coordinating with outside vendors and contractors. Key Responsibilities:Facilities Maintenance & Repair:
- Perform routine maintenance and general repairs across all Favarh properties
- Provide basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting services
- Support snow removal, landscaping, and tree trimming
- Identify and resolve facility issues promptly and safely
Project Management & Problem Solving:
- Plan, prioritize, and complete multiple facility-related projects
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors when needed
- Offer cost-effective solutions to maintenance and repair issues
- Maintain safety standards across all work areas
- Flexibly adjust work hours to meet urgent maintenance needs
Communication & Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with staff, supervisors, and vendors
- Collaborate across departments to support program and facility needs
- Provide status updates on work orders and project timelines
- Build strong working relationships with employees, clients, and families
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry tools, materials, and equipment (some lifting required)
- Frequent use of hands, arms, and fine motor skills
- Requires visual acuity including near/far vision and depth perception
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and work in varying weather conditions
- Work may take place in buildings, outdoors, and around residential or program areas
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training a plus
- Demonstrated experience in facility maintenance, repair, or trade work
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and efficiently
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Must be organized, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented
- Valid Connecticut Driver's License (must be insurable with agency carrier)
Training & Compliance Requirements:
- Must complete all assigned training within agency timelines
- Must follow all safety policies and OSHA regulations
- Maintain awareness of building codes and maintenance best practices
