Job Summary

The Facilities Operations Manager oversees the daily operations, maintenance, safety, and infrastructure of hospital facilities. The role ensures that all facilities are maintained to high standards of functionality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Essential Functions
  • Manage the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) with General Tech Leads, ensuring work orders are properly managed, system is current, and reports are generated.
  • Oversee essential building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and shutdowns to minimize downtime and repair costs.
  • Ensure facilities meet health, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Submit Pre-Construction Risk Assessments (PCRA) for work to ensure safety and infection control measures.
  • Supervise in-house maintenance staff, including electricians and HVAC technicians, ensuring timely and quality work.
  • Manage staff safety training and documentation for OSHA, RICRA, DOT, PPE, and other safety protocols.
  • Participate in daily meetings and coordinate emergency responses, providing updates and timelines.
  • Provide off-hours and weekend support as needed for facilities operations.
  • Manage shift coverage, performance reviews, and policy updates for shop operations.
  • Implement programs such as 'Room A Day' for preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Manage 'Above Ceiling Work' permit program and 'Green' clutter reduction initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Sr. Manager and Facilities Manager to support hospital safety and compliance.
Qualifications

Education: Associate's Degree in a related field is required. Experience cannot substitute for education.

Licenses and Credentials: Not required, but preferred certifications include CFM, FMP, SFP.

Experience: 3-5 years in facilities management, engineering, or related roles.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of building systems, safety regulations, preventative maintenance, organizational skills, problem-solving, budgeting, and effective communication.
