ResponsibilitiesThe facilities coordinator/manager handles the coordination and management for several Michigan Engineering buildings. The exact number and size of facilities could vary, depending on facility/occupant needs and facility location. The position reports through the CoE Facilities Management Office and requires regular communication and coordination with representatives of each group occupying space within assigned buildings.
Bachelor's degree or at least 3 years of demonstrated success in coordinating daily operations of complex facilities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proactive customer service and communication, the ability to successfully interact with a diverse set of building occupants. Training or direct experience in safety response and coordination. Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities that may include moving and transporting objects; assuming postures to access equipment, and manual dexterity movements.
Desired QualificationsKnowledge of University facility management systems (AIM, MPathways, TDX).
Modes of WorkPositions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. This position is classified as onsite working on campus 5 days a week.
Additional InformationThe candidate selected for this position will be identified as a critical employee. Critical employees in certain functional areas will be expected to report to work during emergency periods in accordance with their unit's specific designation. The person in this position routinely moves throughout buildings including loading docks, mechanical rooms, and other service spaces. Requires the ability to travel between buildings, including locations off of North Campus. The person in this position sometimes moves materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
