The Department of Materials Science & Engineering seeks a Facilities Coordinator to perform a wide range of activities relating to maintaining research and academic labs, equipment, and building facilities. This position will report to the Facilities Manager and will work collaboratively with faculty, students, and staff in the Department and College.

ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will perform the following duties:
Associates degree or equivalent experience in engineering, industrial technology, management, or related field. Work experience or education in machine shop, electronics, and/or practical manufacturing technology. Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude for trouble shooting and problem solving. Experience in managing facility operations. Demonstrated superior interpersonal skills working with a diverse group of colleagues. Ability to interpret and effectively communicate Department, University guidelines and policies. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team; demonstrated ability to work under pressure of deadlines and competing priorities; ability to function productively in an ever-changing, high-stress, fast-paced environment; must be supportive of, and participate in, change initiatives to improve service, efficiencies, and/or productivity; excellent attendance and dependability are essential.
Desired QualificationsDemonstrated skills in project management; managing facilities across multiple sites; working with faculty; collaborating with a network of facility professionals. Budget/financial management skills are a plus.
