Facilities Boiler Engineer
Under the general direction of a supervisor, the High Pressure Boiler Technician performs complex-level tasks to ensure a safe, comfortable, and operational environment. This role is responsible for the uninterrupted operation of mechanical and utility systems, including high-pressure boilers and steam-driven turbines. The technician also supports indoor air quality and provides technical expertise to other staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate high-pressure boiler equipment and steam-driven or other turbines.
- Inspect, clean, maintain, and repair boiler systems and related equipment.
- Perform plumbing and steam fitting tasks as needed.
- Provide technical guidance to other staff and assist other trades.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Attend meetings, complete documentation, and deliver high-quality customer service.
- Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors via written, electronic, and verbal methods.
- Operate department vehicles and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years of experience working with high-pressure boilers.
- Must possess a current State of Ohio High Pressure Boiler License.
- May require a valid State of Ohio driver's license.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to push and pull up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to distinguish colors.
- Ability to climb and stand on ladders for extended periods.
Work Conditions
- May work in hot, cold, dusty, or dirty environments for extended periods.
- May be required to work in cramped or confined spaces.
- Shift, hours, days, and/or location are subject to change based on operational needs in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
