Food & Beverage Director
Hilton Garden Inn Denison/Sherman @ Texoma Event Center is seeking an experienced and dynamicFood & Beverage Directorto lead and oversee all aspects of our food and beverage operations. This pivotal role is responsible for managing the daily functions of the kitchen, restaurant, bar, banquet, and catering services, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and profitability.
The ideal candidate will skillfully plan, supervise, and manage kitchen and service staff in the procurement, production, preparation, and presentation of all food and beverage offerings. Maintaining a safe, sanitary, and compliant work environment is essential, along with driving consistency and excellence across all food and beverage outlets while controlling food and labor costs within approved budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee all daily food and beverage operations, including the hotel bar, restaurant, kitchen, and event catering functions.
- Lead, train, manage, and schedule culinary and service staff to ensure efficient workflows, exceptional service, and strict adherence to health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards.
- Provide hands-on support in kitchen or service areas as necessary, including covering shifts during high-demand periods or staffing shortages.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and service standards to consistently meet Hilton brand expectations and exceed guest satisfaction.
- Develop, recommend, and assist with menu enhancements, pricing accuracy, specials, and promotions to maximize guest appeal and profitability.
- Manage inventory for food, beverages, supplies, and equipment; oversee procurement and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective purchasing and proper storage.
- Maintain and track departmental budgets, including food and labor costs, inventory control, and financial goals.
- Monitor and evaluate team member performance; provide coaching, training, and ongoing support.
- Handle guest inquiries and promptly resolve complaints to maintain exceptional service standards.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, company SOPs, and brand standards.
- Collaborate with hotel leadership and other departments to ensure the successful execution of events and overall guest satisfaction.
- Work closely with the sales team to support meeting rooms and catering needs.
- Continuously assess service quality and guest feedback, implementing improvements as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in hotel food and beverage service is required.
- 3-5 years of experience cooking and/or managing a kitchen.
- Valid food handling certificate where required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Understanding of workplace hazards, particularly involving commercial chemical agents, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Self-motivated with strong time management skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Fluency in English.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for the entire shift.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and push/pull approximately 50 pounds.
- Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
