Position: Export Compliance Officer

Openings: 1

Location: 5 days a week onsite- Cheswick, PA 15024

Salary: $78k-$97k

Duration: PERM

Must Haves:

  • Minimum of two plus years work experience in export compliance
  • Detailed knowledge of export control regulations and compliance
  • Department of Energy 10CFR50 Part 810 commercial nuclear technology export controls
  • Nuclear Regulatory Commission Part 1110 commercial nuclear hardware export controls
  • Department of Commerce Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • Department of State International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
  • Atomic Energy Act (AEA)
  • Ability to interpret and apply export control laws in a business context
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearances and approvals
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Law, or other relevant field

Plusses:

  • Contracts Administrator background
  • Legal, Paralegal, law degree, regulations experience.

Job Description:

Insight Global is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Export Compliance Officer to join our client's team in Pittsburgh (Cheswick). This role is critical in ensuring client operations comply with global export control laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the site and division lead for all export compliance activities.
  • Conduct export jurisdiction and classification determinations.
  • Advise on export license and authorization requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to determine Schedule B / HTS codes.
  • Assist in completing export-related documentation (e.g., end-use statements, foreign procurement approvals).
  • Provide guidance on export transactions, including hardware shipments and document markings.
  • Review and advise on export compliance terms and conditions.
  • File reports for DOE Part 810 and other authorized export activities.
  • Support corporate Global Trade Compliance (GTC) reporting requirements.
  • Request export licenses via GTC and distribute license control plans (ACP's).
  • Track license validity and remaining shippable quantities.
  • Provide historical context for complex export control activities to GTC.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and act as an effective team member.
  • Ensure compliance with local procedures, company policies, and safety, environmental, and security guidelines.
