Job Description

CD PROJEKT RED is seeking an Expert 3C's Engineer to focus on implementing and fine-tuning systems for camera, player movement, and control on Project Sirius — an original video game that combines beloved aspects of The Witcher universe with immersive multiplayer gameplay. Our ideal candidate has extensive experience designing these systems across disciplines, is a skilled communicator, and a self-driven problem solver. Most importantly, you care deeply about the player, understand what motivates and inspires them, and know how to build systems that meet those needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Focus on the 3C's of Character, Camera, and Controls, collaborating closely with designers, animators, and engineers on system prototyping and implementation, ensuring systems meet project standards.
  • Develop and implement systems within the engine in a multiplayer environment using C++ and Blueprints.
  • Coordinate with departments regarding 3C's systems: work with gameplay design, engineering, and production to manage prioritization, implementation, and scope related to camera, controls, and character systems.
  • Adhere to code quality standards set by the team.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to realize the overall game vision.
  • Gather and incorporate feedback from team members on existing systems.

Qualifications

  • Proven success in creating compelling and innovative 3C's systems in AAA third-person multiplayer games.
  • Deep understanding of core 3C concepts such as camera behaviors, state machines, character movement, animations, and controls accessibility, especially in multiplayer settings to ensure high fidelity for all players.
  • Extensive knowledge of current game titles, movies, and visual arts to inform and communicate original ideas.
  • Excellent communication skills across engineering, art, narrative, and production teams.
  • Curiosity, kindness, and a positive, professional attitude.

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Experience with Unreal Engine 5.

Additional Information

  • Company-paid medical healthcare (dental, vision, mental health).
  • Paid leave — 20 days of holiday per year, increasing to 26 days after two years.
  • Casual dress code.
  • 401K with employer matching.
  • Training, workshops, and courses — internal and online learning opportunities available.
  • Merchandise and swag — gifts for newborn rebels and regular chances to win cool gear.
  • Welcome pack to help you settle in.

Life in the Office

  • Dog-friendly environment — bring your dog to work and look after them during the day.
  • International team — collaborate with diverse colleagues from around the world.
