Our client, a prominent leader in the education and workforce development sector, is seeking an experienced and accomplished Executive Director to lead their regional operations in Texas. Based in Dallas, this senior leader will be responsible for advancing the organization's mission across the state through their proven track record in strategic leadership, fundraising, and external engagement.

As the primary external representative for the Texas region, the Executive Director will be responsible for cultivating and stewarding relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, employers, and government and community partners. A central focus of this role is to secure significant and diversified revenue, ensuring the long-term sustainability and growth of our client's programs, which directly supports innovation and job attainment for program graduates.

Based primarily in Dallas, the Executive Director will also provide strategic internal oversight for all campuses in the Texas region. This includes working directly with leadership reports to ensure cohesive campus alignment and collaboration, with the ultimate goal of delivering exceptional training and driving unparalleled success for program graduates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fundraising & Strategic Growth: Lead regional fundraising and business development efforts, managing a multi-million-dollar portfolio that includes philanthropic gifts, corporate sponsorships, major gifts, and public funding. Develop and execute a multi-year growth strategy to scale the organization's impact in Texas.
  • External Engagement: Act as the primary spokesperson for our client in Texas, enhancing brand visibility and thought leadership. Build and lead a regional board of business, civic, and philanthropic leaders.
  • Statewide Strategy: Develop and implement a statewide strategy, ensuring regional alignment with the organization's mission and compliance with local and state workforce policies.
  • Internal Leadership: Fostering a high-performing and mission-aligned team. Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for campus success, using data to drive strategic improvements.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience in fundraising, external affairs, or strategy, preferably within the nonprofit, education, or workforce development sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multi-million-dollar fundraising portfolios and building cross-sector partnerships. Track record of growing an annual portfolio to

    exceed $10 million

  • Experience in leading multi-site operations or statewide initiatives with strong strategic planning and execution skills.
  • Deep knowledge of the

    Texas

    workforce, economic development, and philanthropic ecosystems is highly preferred.
  • A strong communicator and ambassador with a passion for advancing economic mobility and racial equity.
