About the Role

This position is responsible for the operation of the Board of Education's Division of Plant Services and School Planning.

Responsibilities

• Plant rehabilitation and modernization
• Preparation of bid specifications
• Purchasing and inventory control
• Development of plans and specifications for construction and reconstruction
• Architectural and engineering studies
• Maintenance of grounds
• Liaison with contractors and approval of work performed under contracts
• Direction and supervision of subordinates and their staff
• Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture or Engineering and three years of full-time experience in the design, construction and/or maintenance of large buildings, two years of which must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity;

OR

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture or Engineering and five years of full-time experience in the design, construction and/or maintenance of large buildings, two years of which must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity;

Required Skills

• Possession of a Professional Engineer or Architect License issued by the State of New York and presented at time of appointment. This license must be maintained during employment.
