Who we are and what we do:

The Department of Finance and Administration is currently seeking experienced candidates for an Executive Information Technology Director position supporting the Department of Corrections. This is an Executive Service position and is located in downtown Nashville. The Executive IT Director will provide the vision and leadership for all technology initiatives for the Tennessee Department of Corrections. The Executive IT Director operates at a strategic level, working with the Business Domain Director for Law, Safety and Correction, as well as the LSC Shared Resources and members of the STS senior management team to identify the technology needs of the agency and develop a living strategic IT plan. The Executive IT Director will drive results by leading the IT team to delivery technology solutions that meet the business needs of the agency.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the STS IT workforce supporting the Tennessee Department of Corrections (TDOC) by setting the focus for project direction and other efforts that align with the priorities of the Agency including the Mission, Vision and Core Values:

1. Support a sustainable organization Plan, implement and support a professional development and succession plan in order to develop and sustain talent for STS support of TDOC. Work with the Business Domain Director (BDD) of Law, Safety, and Correction and the Director of Talent Management to develop and/or maintain IT specific development initiatives.

2. Supervise STS IT staff, directing their work assignments, and initiating personnel actions, including hiring, disciplinary actions, salary, performance goals and reviews according to the States standards.

Lead in efforts to maintain and develop all TDOC IT Systems by working with the agency leadership and subject matter experts to identify and provide solutions that meet their business needs:

1. Work with the STS LSC Domain Project Management Office (PMO) and the STS Project Delivery Center of Excellence (PDCoE) to ensure synchronization and collaboration of all project planning, testing, and implementation activities.

Develop and / or use tools to track data-driven results:

1. Use IT tools to measure results Provide direction for the use or development of IT tools to measure results as it relates to KPI and customer satisfaction.

2. Develops strategies, objectives, and service level agreements for IT services to measure and improve organizational efficiency and performance.

3. Results will be achieved by the use of the State tools to measure individual and overall performance. This will include the creation and / or use of job responsibilities, smart goals / IPP, and IDP for staff members. Provide the best services at the lowest cost to TDOC. Lead the STS IT workforce in supporting TDOCs goals and other initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduated from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems and six years of professional level experience in information technology. Four of the six years must include managerial responsibilities.
