About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Communications to join the Office of the Provost. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic plan for communicating the University's initiatives, programs, and policies to the campus community and external stakeholders. This role involves overseeing both internal and external communications initiatives, managing the Office's strategic communications plan, and serving as the voice of the Provost and the Office. The Executive Director will also provide executive communications support, including the preparation of speeches, briefings, and various essential communication products, and will be involved in website management and content development.Applicants for the Executive Director position must have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years' of experience, with an advanced degree preferred. Experience in higher education or faculty-facing settings is also preferred. The ideal candidate will have outstanding writing and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects effectively, and a proven track record of fostering a collaborative and service-oriented approach. The role requires a professional with a positive, forward-thinking attitude, and a sense of humor, who can think strategically and execute tactically. Responsibilities include advising on communication tactics, creating and editing materials, and serving as a key liaison with various university offices. The Executive Director will also be involved in digital communications management and will provide day-to-day supervision of an Assistant Director.
