DescriptionThe Steam Railroading Institute (SRI) is seeking an inspiring, hands-on Executive Director to lead a dynamic nonprofit museum that operates a railroad artifact with nationwide visibility: Locomotive 1225. This full-time role is an exciting opportunity for a mission-driven professional to oversee operations, fundraising, community engagement, and strategic growth. The Executive Director will guide staff and volunteers, champion fundraising efforts, and serve as a community ambassador. Ideal candidates will have leadership, nonprofit management, and development experience, with a passion for preservation and public engagement. Salary ranges from $65k-$80k, DOE, with generous PTO, health, and retirement benefits.
The Executive Director is responsible for overall leadership, including organizational strategy, development, financial oversight, external relations, and daily operations. Reporting to the Board of Directors, this individual will oversee programs, excursions, and events, ensuring safety and success. Key responsibilities include:
