Self-Direction DSP - Jamesville Area (Job #MA/DM)

Exceptional Family Resources is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work in the Jamesville area with a young adult male, with Autism. He is seeking a staff for about 25 hours a week. He would like to work on independence related tasks at home and in his community such as shopping, cooking, and money management skills. He'd like to explore activities of interest and participate in recreation with his staff. His hobbies and interests include: Star Wars, supernatural, paranormal, anime, seeing movies, drawing, Lego's, video games, and virtual reality activities.

He is interested in learning social skills and needs support with social cues and transitioning through conversations with others. He currently lives with his family and has a goal of living on his own in the future. He'd like to work toward this goal by developing the skills necessary to maintain his belongings and provide for himself. He is enjoyable to be around and has a fun sense of humor. His ideal staff will have patience, and the ability to encourage him to come out of his shell. The individual is looking for a flexible and reliable staff to assist him both at home and in community settings. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, patient, and enthusiastic. Additional hours for a full-time schedule are available with other potential individuals seeking staff. Prior experience is a plus but willing to train. Reliable transportation and a HS diploma/GED are required. Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency.

Hiring for the following shifts with flexibility:

Monday & Friday during the daytime for 5 hours each day.

Tuesday-Thursday starting between 1 and 4 PM for 3-5 hours

Saturday & Sunday flexible
