Experienced Excavator Operator

We are seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to support underground utility and piping projects for a mechanical and plumbing contractor. This role requires precision in excavation around existing utilities and trenching for the installation of water, sewer, and storm systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and other heavy equipment for underground utility and piping projects.
• Perform precise excavation around existing utilities.
• Trench for the installation of water, sewer, and storm systems.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment.
• Maintain equipment in good working condition.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3 years experience operating excavators.
• Minimum of 3 years experience working around utilities.
• Proficient in heavy equipment operation.
• Strong understanding of utility construction and digging practices.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with skid steer and forklift operations.
• Certification in heavy equipment operation (HEO) is a plus.

Work Environment

You will work Monday to Friday from 7am to 5pm on-site in Williamsburg, VA, contributing to the construction of a new lecture hall. The role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Job Type & Location

This is a contract position based out of Henrico, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
