Our Excavation Project Managers lead project teams to successfully manage complex construction projects. Scopes of work include, but are not limited to, site development, underground utilities, directional drilling, and water/wastewater treatment plants.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the project team, including designers, superintendents, foremen, field laborers, and administrative staff.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules.
  • Oversee project purchasing.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, material procurement, and delivery logistics.
  • Serve as the primary administrative point of contact with the owner, including negotiation of financial disputes and change orders.
  • Fully understand and manage the details of each project's scope of work.
  • Create and maintain accurate project cost reports.
  • Document and negotiate scope changes that may impact completion or contract costs with subcontractors and owners.
  • Supervise field implementation of the quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) plan alongside the project superintendent.
  • Collaborate with superintendents and the safety director to develop and implement the project safety plan.
  • Estimate costs for smaller projects.
  • Coordinate equipment needs across active projects.

Requirements:

Preferred experience in:

  • Water and wastewater treatment plants
  • Underground utility work
  • Site development
  • Directional drilling.
  • Experience with GPS/UTS machine control is a plus, but not required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or Engineering or 3-5 years of experience in commercial site development and underground utility construction.
  • Proven ability to manage one large-scale project (over $5 million) or multiple smaller projects simultaneously, including oversight of all related personnel.
  • Strong Knowledge of construction processes, design, cost reporting and cash flow management.
  • Proficiency in construction-related software, project management tools, and scheduling.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
