The Division of Global Health Equitypart of the Department of Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH)fosters the support and coordination of training, research, and service to reduce disparities in disease burden and to improve treatment outcomes both nationally and internationally. The Division focuses on the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of health problems, particularly those that disproportionately affect populations in the developing world. The Division is also the administrative home of the Center for Integration Science in Global Health Equity (CIS). Directed by Dr. Gene Bukhman, CIS focuses on developing, implementing, and evaluating integrated care delivery models to address severe, chronic noncommunicable diseases (NCDs)such as type 1 diabetes, sickle cell disease, and rheumatic heart diseasein highly constrained health systems. CIS is a collaboration between the Division of Global Health Equity, the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School (HMS), and Partners In Health (PIH). The Center also serves as a co-secretariat for the NCDI Poverty Network, together with the Universidade Eduardo Mondlane (UEM) in Maputo Mozambique). The CIS administers the Network's PEN-Plus Partnership. This Partnership promotes the integrated delivery of services at district hospitals for NCDs that disproportionately affect children and young adults.
The Events Specialist, Advancement plays a pivotal role on the Center's Advancement team, which oversees partnership management, communications, and advocacy efforts for the Center and the NCDI Poverty Network. The Events Specialist will oversee coordination and communication for all Advancement events, both within the US and globally. S/he will take the lead in designing and managing core processes and systems related to events, setting the standards and SOPs for management of external engagement activities; and event design, planning and logistics. The Events Specialist will report to the CIS Senior Director of Advancement.
