Events Manager - Word on Fire Catholic Ministries : Job Details

Reports to: Events Director

Word on Fire Catholic Ministries is a nonprofit global media apostolate supporting Bishop Robert Barron, reaching millions to inspire or rekindle faith.

The Events Manager designs live brand experiences that embody the ministry's mission to inspire action among the religiously unaffiliated, faithful Catholics, and donors. This role involves executing all ministry events, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure successful delivery.

Location: Rochester, MN

Employment Type: Full-time

• Deliver mission-driven live events and activations for the ministry.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop messaging through creative mediums, including video, design, and onsite branding.
• Lead end-to-end event production, including vendor negotiations, logistics, and catering.
• Manage the full project lifecycle from conception through post-event analysis, maintaining project plans, timelines, budgets, and run of show.
• Develop and track budgets, negotiate with vendors to stay within financial targets.
• Maintain professional communication and proactively resolve issues for seamless event execution.
• Identify risks, develop contingency plans, and ensure compliance with legal and safety standards.
• Evaluate event success and recommend improvements.

• Bachelor's degree in event management, marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in event management or production.
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
• Proficiency with Google Docs, PowerPoint, Sheets, Excel, and email.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Travel approximately 1-2 times per quarter.
• Basic budgeting skills.

The estimated base salary ranges from $71,000 to $90,000 annually, based on experience and location. Benefits include:
