Job Type Full-time Description Position Summary: The Events Coordinator plans, organizes, and executes a variety of events, including museum-wide family events and fundraising events. Planning of events may be in conjunction with other departments as internal customers. The Events Coordinator may also coordinate and execute events planned by other departments. This role requires creativity, excellent communication skills, and strong attention to detail to ensure all events align with the museum's mission while providing memorable, enriching, and successful experiences. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute museum events such as fundraisers, parties, seasonal celebrations, and community events.
  • Plan and execute fundraising events, including but not limited to annual galas, benefit auctions, and donor appreciation events, in collaboration with the Development team.
  • Manage event logistics, including scheduling, setup, takedown, supplies, vendor relations, and volunteer coordination.
  • Collaborate with the Education and Exhibits teams to integrate engaging, hands-on activities into events.
  • Support the Marketing team to promote events through social media, newsletters, and community partnerships.
  • Ensure all events meet safety and accessibility standards appropriate for children and families.
  • Greet and support families, guests, and donors during events to ensure a positive, welcoming experience.
  • Track event budgets, attendance, and feedback to support reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Assist with donor stewardship during fundraising events by supporting acknowledgment processes and engagement opportunities.
  • Support other museum activities and visitor engagement as needed.
Requirements Position Requirements:
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and events.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a welcoming, child-friendly demeanor.
  • Comfortable working with children and families in a public-facing role.
  • Comfortable working with donors in a public-facing role.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required for events.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform physical tasks related to event setup.
  • A passion for creating joyful experiences that are aligned with the mission of Imagine Children's Museum.
Education and/or Experience:
  • 3-5 years' experience in event planning, preferably in a nonprofit, educational, or family-centered environment.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality, nonprofit management, education, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
  • Experience in planning or assisting with fundraising or donor-focused events is a plus.
Supervisory Responsibility: May supervise volunteers as needed.   • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time and occasionally lift and or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time, climb ladders and stairs.
  • Independent body mobility to access a standard office environment with shelves and drawers of varying heights.
  • Vision sufficient to read a computer screen, 12 point and fine printed text, and handwritten documents.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard on a daily basis.
  • Speak and hear sufficiently to communicate clearly in person, over the telephone, and in small groups.
  • Mental stamina for problem solving and dealing with stressful situations; prioritizing multiple tasks; interpreting and applying oral/written instructions.
  • Ability to bend, carry, reach to the side, front and overhead, push, pull, walk, stand, twist and squat, grab, squeeze are repetitive motions required of the position.
  • Occasionally exposed to outdoor elements including high and low temperatures, precipitation, and wind.
  • Occasionally exposed to moderate noise in and around exhibits.
  • Occasionally exposed to small and/or enclosed spaces.
This is a full-time position, onsite in Everett. The pay is $25.29 an hour. Must be able to work occasional weekends and evenings.
