Granite Partners is seeking an outstanding candidate to join our team as an Events & Business Operations Intern in the fall of 2025. The role can be built around your academic schedule and may include a combination of both part-time and full-time work arrangements, depending on the time of the year, with the potential to continue into the spring and summer of 2026. The Events & Business Operations Intern will get broad exposure to a wide range of administration functions and learn what it's like to work for a mission-driven private investment and holding company.
During the internship, you will gain experience in event planning, project management, process management, and technology support as you help us grow the Minnesota-based Granite Companies. The Events & Business Operations Intern will support all operations and events happening at Granite Innovations, a 40,000 square foot, newly renovated building in downtown St. Cloud.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As an Events & Business Operations Intern, you will receive training, professional development, and direct 1:1 mentorship from leaders in the firm. In this role, you will get the opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders in the Granite community to advance high impact initiatives.
Training
- Manage projects from initiation through completion – gain exposure and experience in all areas of project management. Lead a project from start to finish, leveraging systems and tools like Monday.com.
- Solve problems like a consultant – learn to structure and break down problems, manage a project plan, and translate meaningful insights into actionable recommendations.
- Think like an owner – learn to make decisions for the long-term, with 100-year sustainability in mind.
Coaching & Mentorship
- Receive personalized coaching from an assigned mentor at Granite Partners who will help ensure you are acquiring skills, developing relationships, and growing as a future business leader while getting the support and tools you need to complete your projects.
Experience the Granite Community
- Understand how Granite Partners approaches the Granite community and invests in “all stakeholders.”
- Participate in and support annual Granite Days events and experience collaboration among leaders across the Granite Companies.
- Gain exposure to the digital strategy and transformation projects taking place throughout the Granite Companies.
- Spend time with other Granite Company interns at Granite Intern Day – a day of connecting, networking, building relationships, and attending the FranklinCovey “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” Forum.
- Participate in a range of social activities to get to know the firm and have fun!
Potential Projects
The Events & Business Operations Intern's projects will be assigned based on a balance of business needs and experience or interest. Examples of projects could include:
- Supporting event planning and projects for annual Granite Days events
- Providing technology support for Granite Innovations users
- Hosting guests at Granite Innovations
- Managing business administration processes
- Leading event planning and coordination at Granite Innovations
- Collaborating and supporting overall Granite Partners team efforts and team services
- Communicating and collaborating with an ecosystem of vendor partners, including technology, food and beverage, and office support
- Supporting the Granite Partners team through meeting scheduling, meeting preparation, PowerPoint development, and communication

A successful Events & Business Operations Intern at Granite Partners will:
- Be a sophomore or junior at a four-year college or in the second year of an associate's degree
- Have strong academic performance and a demonstrated record of achievement
- Have strong technology and systems skills
- Have summer, student, or full-time work experience
- Have community engagement and service experience
- Be a participant in extracurricular activities with sports achievements, student club leadership, academic honors, artistic works, or the like

Compensation
We offer a competitive hourly rate in the $20 to $24 range, based on experience and requirements of the role. Beyond pay, our internship program is designed to provide valuable hands-on experience and learning opportunities. Interns gain access to:

The Events & Business Operations Intern position is in-person, based at our office in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
