Job Title: ETL Azure Data Engineer
Location: Fully Remote
Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire (C2H)

Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of ETL processes and data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Work hands-on with Snowflake, SQL Server, and Azure Cloud.
- Create and manage DDL (Data Definition Language) structures for the data warehouse.
- Collaborate with Data Analysts for process testing and validation.
- Engage with functional stakeholders to understand requirements and provide analytical insights.
- Demonstrate ownership and initiative – not just an “order taker.”
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain scalable ETL pipelines with ADF.
- Set up data ingestion processes into the Program Integrity data mart.
- Develop and manage DevOps practices for performance and workload balancing.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure seamless data flow and integration.
- Troubleshoot and optimize pipelines for reliability and performance.
- Lead project delivery in the cloud, ensuring compliance and adherence to timelines.
- Communicate technical details effectively with both technical and functional teams.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud-based data engineering and data warehousing.
- 2+ years of focused experience with Snowflake, including automated workflows using SQL procedures and Python scripting.
- Solid experience with Azure data tools (ADF, SQL Server, Blob Storage).
- Strong scripting skills with Python and other languages.
- Skilled in handling various data formats (CSV, JSON, VARIANT) and tools like SnowSQL.
- Familiarity with data science libraries: Snowpark, Apache Spark, pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn.
- Proven experience building cloud-native ETL pipelines.
- Strong analytical and independent problem-solving skills.
- Effective communicator and team collaborator.
- Healthcare domain knowledge, especially in medical claims processing, is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of healthcare data (Medicaid/Medicare).
- Understanding of healthcare claims systems and data workflows.
