Position Summary:
This role involves leading and managing estimates from bid to project completion.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Consult with vendors, personnel from other departments, construction superintendents, and engineers to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Analyze plan documents and data to prepare estimates for time, cost, materials, and labor.
- Prepare estimates for vendor or subcontractor selection.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes to estimates.
- Assist management with estimates for planning, organizing, and scheduling.
- Maintain cost and expenditure documentation throughout the project.
- Track actual costs relative to bids and assess cost-effectiveness.
- Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems.
- Conduct studies to develop standard hour and related cost data or to reduce costs.
- Review material and labor requirements to optimize cost-effectiveness.
- Assist in predicting project timelines and costs, considering weather and unforeseen factors.
- Calculate final estimated costs, including overheads and profit, and prepare tender prices.
- Perform additional responsibilities as directed by management, including travel for meetings, site visits, and training.
