We're seeking a skilled Estimator (or Senior Estimator, depending on experience) with in-depth expertise in wastewater treatment plant and pump station projects. You'll deliver accurate, competitive cost estimates for complex water infrastructure, helping drive successful bids and build long-term client trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, piping, instrumentation, and process equipment for wastewater treatment and related projects.
- Develop quantity takeoffs, bid packages, subcontractor quotes, and cost comparisons.
- Review design documents, evaluate constructibility, and identify risks or challenges.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (project management, engineering, operations) for smooth handoff post-bid.
- Maintain cost databases, historical project data, and estimate templates.
- Mentor junior staff (for senior-level) and contribute to continuous process improvements.
Desired Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience estimating in the wastewater treatment or pumping station sector, preferably including projects like sequencing batch reactors, clarifiers, influent headworks, digester construction, or chemical feed systems.
- Strong technical background in civil and mechanical systems, as well as familiarity with electrical and instrumentation components.
- Excellent proficiency in takeoff software, cost estimation tools, and spreadsheet modeling.
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical mind, and excellent communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; professional certification preferred.
- If applying for the Senior Estimator title: leadership experience, mentoring ability, and a track record of managing multi-million-dollar bids.
