Job Description
ACS System Associates Inc. is currently seeking an Estimator to join our Estimation Department as an integral part of our team.
The need is for an HVAC Estimator to evaluate bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that all items required are completed in the field of duct work / piping / ATC design in regards with HVAC systems.
Must be proficient in understanding how to read all versions of CAD drawings and plans, should possess strong communication and coordination skills, and should be self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the initiative to deliver innovative designs.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for all HVAC/R systemsWork closely with Operations to determine budgeting and strategic goalsInterface with Project Managers to ensure that projects are delivered per estimates and continuously refine the estimating formulasKeep an accurate database of prospective projectsPrepare Bids and process accordinglyCommunicate with vendors and subcontractors to determine cost-effective solutionsEnsure proper coverage from subcontractors on bid dayFollow up with subcontractors to ensure bids are receivedEnsure all bids are priced correctly by subcontractors and vendors, e.g., Tax ExemptReview blueprints and delineate the scope of work requiredFollow up on submitted bids and budgets with GC to close businessNegotiate Change OrdersRequirements:
Min 5 years of experience with HVAC, plumbing, and sprinkler estimatingBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related fieldProficiency in estimating software and tools, with excellent mathematical and analytical skillsAdvanced knowledge of estimating strategies and techniquesKnowledge of estimating software programs plus proficiency with ExcelProfessional, ethical, and able to maintain confidentialityProven Estimating experienceWhy ACS:
